Rosemary Raiche
"My purely abstract work derives from imaginative constructs of the world and its formation and with it, all natural forces and living things."
"The Australian landscape has strength and vitality even in its terrifying aspects such as fire, drought, flood and death. Interpreting what is felt comes about as I find myself ‘being in’ the painting and improvising. The work itself suggests its own development. As the paint flows, it can leaves traces and marks which overlap and integrate. Aspects of chance remain, with their underlying influences; in the same way that experience leaves its mark on the mind."
